Here’s how it compares to an Essick AirCare MA1201 We have a wood fireplace that we use quite a bit during the winter, so I’ve been using humidifiers for many years now—with mixed results. Before receiving this Honeywell model, the humidifier used was an Essick Air MA1201 Humidifier. Since the two humidifiers are similar in cost and features I thought it might be useful to compare the Honeywell to that MA1201.The Honeywell was easier to set up than the MA1201. Simply fill it with water, and turn it on. The Essick has wheels that needed to be installed first. (Up to you if that is a benefit. We rarely move the humidifier.) Honeywell Humidifier The Honeywell Removable Top Fill Console is a very nice unit. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and love how much better we are sleeping because we are not waking up with dry scratchy throats. You can set it in a corner like we did and put a rocking chair in front of it to hide it if you are concerned about it. There are two water tanks that add up to 3 gallons. I can fill the humidifier up in the morning and it wont need refilled until the next morning. You can either take the tanks out and fill them up in the sink or you can take a bucket or pitcher to the humidifier to fill it up, it is easy to do. I love that it automatically shuts itself off when it runs out of water. You dont have to worry about…
