Great product. Easy to install, but difficult to understand what all you need for your shower… Very happy with the quality and function of this rough-in box. The problem I had when I started, as a novice homeowner, is figuring out what the heck I needed to use for my shower. I will not claim to be an expert, but I will say with a high degree of certainty that this rough-in box works well for my shower-only, when coupled with the GrohFlex controls that you also have to buy. Keep in mind that while the choices of fixtures seem endless, there is really only a few choices or designs of controls that work with this particular rough-in box — I think. The documentation and directions that come with the box are poor to non-existant. As a novice homeowner, with zero experience with shower fixtures, I did manage to install it easily. I posted a video of my novice perspective on YouTube. I will put the like below, but not sure whether it will work. If not, search “novice GrohFlex installation” and it should come up on top of the page…

Terrible Grohe technical and customer support, no published repair parts listings….how does this instill confidence in Grohe? Nice design as a rough-in box which appears to be a mandatory item required before any of the new external Grohe shower/tub fixtures can be installed. Like many others who are doing either a major bath renovation or new bathroom construction this rough-in box MUST, I repeat MUST, be included ion any of your Grohe shower/tub installations. This is never mentioned in any of box/online stores which sell Grohe fixtures and NOT knowing this can literally put a complete stop to your project. Prices like everything else are all over the map and range from Amazon’s $77 to over $130 for this 35026 roughout. Negatives include the fact the installing plumber/contractor who all now normally sweat plumbing fittings must be cognizant of the fact too much heat will distort possibly melt this rough-in box. Once this Grohe rough-in is installed you can then order either a pressure balancing or thermostatic Grohe control module which is included as part of your exterior trim kit. This design…
