It’s great for personal use. Don’t expect a deli level slicer at this price. I’ve never owned a personal meat slicer before, though I’ve worked in restaurants where I’ve used professional grade slicers. For the price I paid for the Chard, obviously I couldn’t set my sights on that level of performance. From reading some people’s reviews, you get the sense they were. For me, I’m using the Chard at best, a couple of times a month. The original purpose was for slicing raw chicken breasts to make jerky I could trust for my dogs. I’d grown weary of trying to decipher where the store bought jerky was actually from and have grown to distrust anything that is connected with China and food. In conjunction with the Chard, I purchased a NESCO food dehydrator and a NESCO vacuum sealer. Both of which I’m very happy with and will have reviewed. After using the Chard the first time, and not having great success, I wondered if the power and size was enough. For unlike those I’d worked with before, I was having a great deal of trouble getting evenly…
